Day 1: Marrakesh – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorge.
Pick up at the airport in Marrakech and start of the tour. Drive through Tizi-N-Tichka (2260m) on the High Atlas Mountains, where you will appreciate the beauty of the scenery and the traditional Berber villages. You will arrive at the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lunch near the Kasbah and then continue to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa” which has been the set of many famous films. Visit of the Atlas studios and of the Taourit Kasbah. We will continue our journey crossing the road of the Thousand Kasbahs with its fascinating sand castles to finally reach Kalaat Mgouna, the Rose city. Check in a hotel in the Dades Gorge.
Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga.
After breakfast, drive back through the valley to see the amazing rock formation “the monkey toes”, and the nineteenth century Kasbah of Ait Yul. You will leave the Dades valley towards Tinghir and the Todra valley, enjoying the scenic views of the old Berber villages. On arrival at the Gorge walk under the 300m high red cliff where many rock-climbers come to practice this exciting sport. Continue heading towards Erfoud and Rissani for lunch. Then, you will leave for Merzouga village where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before checking in at the Hotel.
Day 3: Merzouga – Midelt – Azrou forest – Ifrane – Fes.
You will wake up early in the morning to go on a camel trek to watch the sunrise. Then you will be going back to the hotel by camel. En route you will be able to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes changing with the light as the day progresses, before continuing to Fes via Errachidia along the magnificent Ziz Gorges – carved through volcanic rock – and through the mountain pass Tizi Ntalghamt to Midelt. We will arrive at Zaida to enjoy a barbecue and a refreshing glass of mint tea. Then our journey will continue to Azrou, a Berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains; stop to see the Barbarian apes in the famous Cedars forest. On you way to Ifrane “the French village” stop to take pictures and a drink then drive to the hotel in Fes.
